BIAL is working closely with the Government of Karnataka in fighting the pandemic and has been an active member of the CII – Govt. of Karnataka COVID Taskforce. Fairfax Financial Holdings Group (company with 54% stake in BIAL) has provided the funding to set up COV-AID@BLR, a 150-bed, oxygenated COVID-19 treatment centre at Bangalore Airport. The initiative in partnership with GiveIndia, is part funded by KIAF, the foundation of Bangalore International Airport Limited, and will be managed by its investee companies – BIAL and Quess Corp Limited. The centre is currently under construction and will open later this month.

Bayer is supporting 130 COVID-care beds across various locations. Along with the Government of Maharashtra it has converted its plant at Chittegaon, Aurangabad into an 80-bed COVID-care facility. To support, those in need, the organization has also sponsored beds in major hospitals across multiple cities for emergency support. In collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, NASSCOM and WNS Global Services, Bayer is supporting 30 ICU beds in one of the district hospitals through telemedicine solutions. On the oxygen front, the company is re-purposing its existing 200 NM3/hr Nitrogen plant at its manufacturing facility at Vapi.

On April 27, Mark Zuckerburg announced a $10 million grant for emergency response efforts in light of the COVID-19 situation in the country . Facebook is partnering with organizations such as United Way Delhi and United Way Bengaluru, Swasth, Hemkunt Foundation, I Am Gurgaon, Project Mumbai and US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) to deploy these funds to help augment critical medical supplies with 5000+ oxygen concentrators and other life-saving equipment like ventilators, BiPAP machines and to increase hospital bed capacity.

Hero MotoCorp, under its CSR initiative, has extended support to 600 plus COVID beds and is targeting 1000 beds. It is supporting 50 beds each at the COVID Care facilities of Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP) and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital (GTB) in Delhi; 250 bed COVID-care centre in Tajpura, Halol; 50 beds at the Community Health Centre in Neemrana; 100 bed COVID care make-shift hospital in partnership with the District Administration in Gurgaon and 122 beds at Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram in Haridwar. In addition, the company is extending support to 26 CHCs and 26 Police Stations in partnership with local NGO at Jaipur. The company has provided masks, sanitizers, PPE kits, oximeters, IR thermometers and gloves for health workers around its plant operations. Hero MotoCorp is now having discussions for supporting medical facilities in and around Chittoor District.

SpiceHealth disrupted the Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) testing space by offering tests in mobile laboratories at INR 499, as opposed to the then existing rate of INR 2400 in Delhi (November 2020), helping bring down Covid-19 testing cost dramatically across the country. SpiceHealth was also the first to introduce the innovative concept of mobile testing laboratories that could be placed in remote areas, in containment zones, in villages where access to hospitals and medical facilities remains a challenge. Since its launch in November 2020, SpiceHealth has conducted more than 2.2 million RT-PCR tests and has spread its operations across fives states - Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttarakhand.
